France is poised to be completely cut off from Russian gas. France is set to to turn off street lights in response to the energy crisis as a result of this.

President Macron declared that public lighting would be turned off at night in order to save energy, despite the fact that he claimed “France has little dependence on Russian gas.”
In an interview that was broadcast on television to mark Bastille Day, Macron expressed the remarks, reports abc news.
Because of the crisis in Ukraine, Macron claimed that “the summer, early autumn will be very hard” for the French people. He also stated that a complete cutoff of Russian gas was appearing quite probable.
Macron’s announcement that some public lighting will be switched off at night in select locations prompted warnings to French citizens to practice energy “sobriety” and get ready for even higher food prices.

“From now on, I will ask public bodies, and all companies that can, to consume less,” said Macron. “We will create a program and try to use lighting less in the evenings. We are launching a load reduction and sobriety program.”
“We have to prepare for a scenario in which we have to give up Russian gas completely,” he added.
In spite of these somewhat extreme declarations, the French President stated that “France has little dependence on Russian gas.”
Additionally, he asserted that sanctions on Russia were not to blame for the energy problem because “energy prices started to rise even before the war.”
“We must all prepare for the fact that the war will last. The summer and the beginning of autumn will probably be very tough,” said Macron.
Germany is also feeling the effects of the crisis acutely. There, residents are busy accumulating firewood while being advised to take fewer showers, drive less, and prepare for chilly conditions by dressing in more layers.
This winter, cities throughout Germany intend to use sports arenas and exhibition halls as “warm up spaces” to assist chilly residents who are unable to bear skyrocketing energy expenses.
Still, they are in favor of ‘the current thing.’ Perhaps this will keep them warm.
