A key US nuclear submarine is reportedly headed to the Black Sea in a strategic retort to Russia. The USS Rhode Island entered the Mediterranean Sea on Nov.5 four days after arriving in the Port of Gibraltar. It is now en route to a “strategic position” after Russia’s announcement about its newest nuclear-powered submarine. The USS Rhode Island’s reported departure for Black Sea is amid a critical phase in Russia’s war on Ukraine.
