UNITED STATESThe US is ramping up its offensive and defensive capabilities in the Western Pacific amid rising tensions with China. The Pentagon has started deploying new long-range Tactical Mobile Over-the-Horizon Radar, or TACMOR systems for its Air Force. Not just the Pacific island of Palau, the US also wants to protect the strategic island of Guam from the Chinese missile threat. The US has now awarded Lockheed Martin a contract worth nearly $500 million to improve the performance of the Aegis Weapon System.
