A “massive fireball” has been reported in Gaza, after “multiple air strikes” by the Israeli military, leaving several people dead in the last few hours. Al Jazeera reported that two of the strikes hit two civil defence headquarters and killed at least seven civil defence members.
Hamas claims a quarter of Gaza’s population is homeless after being displaced from their homes by Israeli bombardments. Israeli PM’s office has denied there is a truce under way in southern Gaza to allow foreign nationals to flee across the Rafah border crossing.
The UN’s agency working in Palestine has said it is no longer able to help the more than two million people trapped in the Gaza Strip. US President Joe Biden has said that Israeli occupation of Gaza would be a big mistake as Tel Aviv prepares for a ground offensive.
